My scooby doesn't pull after 250 :(

aDe 06-10-2005 08:48 PM

could be the gap on your driver window sealing because it does not have frame anymore my01+ it happened to me sometimes even at 120kmh depend on the wind flow though :D hehe

Shinobiken 06-10-2005 08:51 PM

my car kinda does that too, sounds like air rushing in thru a very small gap, near the driver side side mirror/bonnet area, not very loud, but then i wasn't going that fast.
thot air is coming in from the windows, but then i'm pretty sure i checked that all my windows are closed and no air is coming thru the air vents, i dunno why.
Yeah DooM, I know, I know. I don't usually drive at speeds considered safe on many European and Northern Teritory roads.
Let's not discuss the difference in quality between a euro motorway and our shitty highways eh? That also assumes you're running tyres that are rated for those kind of speeds.

Anyway, there are shitloads of spots on almost any car that will cause wind noise like that as high speeds. Common sense son.

Mine doesnt wanna go anywhere after 185 :(
BLOODY AUTO!! - Thought about a speed cut lifter, but how often do ya wanna go faster than 180

scoobysix 07-10-2005 01:58 AM

Hey my mighty Swift is geared to top out at a whopping 170kmh, so all just shuddup :D

Josh 07-10-2005 12:23 PM

That's because it takes 170km to get to that speed mike!

Andy 07-10-2005 07:24 PM

its probably air getting through your windows...as impreza's don't have a frame that incases the windows. they may start to move out sometimes :P

creepin 08-10-2005 01:58 AM

i have never driven that fast but, :D
it may be an inner guard trying to fall off as one of mine managed to do this on the freeway

if ur wheels are not weighted properly u will get a whirring noise

not from previous experience but.... :D
as i have noticed in a "friends" 04sti as you approach 220kmph the whole car will start to whirr all the way to the 245kmph speed limiter
i dont think they are geared properly to do over 240
or maybe its just my "friends" car
