Wrong sort of market for a wrx swap I guess.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would expect these korean cars to have any performance benefits over their WRX's/liberty's (although I do believe Hyundai were pushing the Genesis as a "performance vehicle"). But if you were looking for a smart 4 door car to putt around town in, without breaking the bank, this might just do the trick. I'd happily drive one as my daily. |

thats true captain o. the reliability of the korean cars is decent enough. i think they were the first to come out with a 5 year warranty? also i think the tiburon fell into that category as well?
but still... until a turbo model aimed at performance is released, i think its an uphill battle for them. more of a mass marketed car aimed at your average joe who could be talked into anything, as opposed to us hardcore 'niche' motorists |

i personally would not pay +$35k for the i45... especially for a new release of a new car. Purchased the new model release Sante Fe back in the early 2000's and found later down the track elements of the car hadn't clearly been thoroughly tested in the Australian climate (eg. dash board started to melt after only a few months)...
but must say that the styling of both Kia and Hyundai has significantly improved... |
