Everyone has their 'own' guy for doing stuff - Apart from ASG and stuff like that, my main guy who is a Subaru Pro and involved in Rally Aus and other local motorsports events is Rob Webber/Nigel from Platinum Auto's in Jandakot.
100K Service: Good Quality Oil - 10w40 Synthetic Oil Filter - Subaru WRX/STi OEM Gearbox Oil Diff Oil Spark Plugs - NGK Iridiums/Platinums Fuel Filter - OEM Timing Belt - OEM Tensioners* - Not necessary but inspect and do if required. Upper Engine Cleaner - OEM Injector Cleaner - OEM Air Filter - OEM or Pod cleaner Cam Seals -OEM Water Pump - OEM I did brake pads and brake fluid at the same time also. That is a decent service, my car felt so nice and tight afterwards

Maybe you should have upgraded to a 3" exhaust and it wouldn't be so tight!

Are there any other places that do 100K service for less than $1k?
Also is the water pump normally changed at the 100K service? I got quotes from several places which do not include changing the water pump.

Water pumps are option items which generally have a life span of 100km-200kms.
People find it easier to put a new water pump in (think round $120?140?) as the motor is already in pieces. If you don't do a pump and it breaks down the track, it will cost more in labour to pull apart the front end and replace the broken pump Personally I recently done my 100k on a MY99 and I did all the above, bar Pads as they were fine + I added on new power steering fluid. I also did my water pump as I plan on keeping the car and it just saves all that hassle down the track. |

Do the water pump - It will take 100k, but chances of it making it to 200k aren't guaranteed.
Change it while the timing gear is off, it's easily done. I got a genuine water pump from Subaru Ozzy Park for about $115. Peace of mind dude - I missed Coolant off the list too ..

In general rough driving will lead to more parts being changed. If you were to drive the car rough quite alot around corners and reving the shit out of the engine (nothing over 6600 rpm) Swinging the cars weight left and right, besides the obvoius engine wear, will parts on the suspension wear??? Like say CV joints??? . i hear CV joints wont wear at all, just gotto check some oil around the area o.O, bushings, and brakes

I guess using geniune parts just adds to the cost of servicing.
