255kph is Just about Speed Limitter in a STI isnt it.

Thought the Government had speed limiters set on most performance cars

Subaru's Specs on the PIG STI state

Max. speed (in top gear) km/h 255 (Limited)

Always thought the ECU would stop the car from going any faster

the governement has nothing to do with the speed limit on the car.. the limit is due to gear ratio and rpm limit..

jdm cars have a 180km/hr speed limited.

not sure on audm.

My 2002 STI went to ~235 before electronic cut. Owners manual claimed 240.
