Dunno bout 16's, but I just put Toyo Proxes T1-R's on mine (215/45 17's) and they seem pretty good, although have NEVER run my car on the track, only the drags!
Probably not much help, sorrrry.

Toyo R spec tyres are crap.. put lightly

the tread blocks move around and give the car a squirmy feeling

Havent given them a hard time yet, so havent experienced any 'squirmyness', my only drama is they're are rubbing when I turn and if there r 3/4 of u in the car, the rub over bumps.
