I think the the new mazda3 mps got some of there ideas from the wrx

I am very happy with my 08 betty and dont regret buying it, even with the 09 model now out, which I'v test drove. Though I admit after getting the STI spoiler fitted its definatly an improvement. But the moulded scoop, led tail lights, interior, awesome.

Personally I am not a fan of how Imprezas look...but then I didnt buy it to look at and to be honest there are very few cars of any make that leap out to me as being handsome.

I dont like the WRX hatch that much...its not very aggressive. The sedan has that odd high sided, small wheels tucked under look that all modern cars seem to have.

If I was looking to buy one though I would still go with a hatch purely for the practicality of a hatchback....though I noticed the rear leg room is still apalling.

I think part of the problem is that there is no longer enough to make the WRX and STI stand out.
Subaru have been pushing the basic model cars pretty hard and I have seen a lot of them around, to me it weakens the WRX / STI 'experience' when a base model car comes with the same bodykit, wheels, interior and equipment levels.

Having said all this I have been lusting over a Betty STI....well a Litchfield Type 20 to be more precise. The problem is that the STI is awfully expensive for what it is and the price plonks it right in the middle of some very nice (though probably slower) machines.

As for that 3 MPS...god what an apalling looking thing. Whats with its stupid smiley face?!?!
