Default sti engine

hi guys,
ive got a 98 wrx and wanting to put a sti engine in it. the engine has blown a cylinder and will cost a fortune to repair. so i might aswell dump a new engine.
anyone know where i can purchase an sti engine? or is it better to go for a 2.5L wrx engine? any workshop recommended?

cheers guys.

theres a place called "japanese wholesaler spares" in Wangara ph- 93023519 and they had heaps of subaru stuff. But i couldnt tell ya wat there like. i would think sti would be better, produces more power and internals r stronger, but might cost more

dont go the 2.5, just drop in a 207, strong reliable motor, there is a thread on workshops specialising in wrx's, have a look.

regents or jws, dont know if regents have any 207's atm.

SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH.....

1 Million Threads and counting.... I have posted quite a bit on this in another post.

EJ207 if your want a tough as mother that revs.

EJ257 for lazy street cruising. Lots of torque then BANG goes your 98 gearbox.
