Arrow 06 STi Mods Completed

Hi All

My mate got a few basic mods done to his car at Maximums today:

1. 3" Stainless T/B Zorst
2. ECUTek 2
3. Walbro 500 HP Fuel Pump
4. Boost to 1.3 Bar

He wanted CAI, but they don't do one yet as previous models don't fit. CAI will be done ASAP.

Steve from Maximums said that the first 06 STi (test car) modded put out 185 KW atw and 475 NM and that my mates would be 190kW ATW and 500 NM. I looked at the Dyno Graph from the test car and it had 375 NM at 2,600 RPM compared to around 250 NM on the stock car.

My mate's very happy.

Yeah he didn't need to go Tek 3 as the test car had almost the same mods except for my mate added the 500 HP fuel pump... so it was an easy plug and play tune. Also the test car at 185 kw atw and 475 nm had standard boost (only had 100 kms on it) and my mate's was slightly increased to 1.3 bar. Therefore Steve conservatively estimates a peak power output of 190 kw atw and 500 nm.

What are your Mate's thoughts on differences in driveability pre & post tune?

Hey Bruce.

Pre: the car was torquey and fast but obviously held back by its factory settings. Boost wasn't very noticeable as the power delivery is very constant and linear.

Post: Wow! So much torque and pull from any gear at almost any RPM. Now it puts out close to the Stock Peak NM at only 2,600 RPM. The combination of the zorst and increase in boost obviously means it provides more of that typical Rex turbo rush, power is still linear but now just on a larger scale.

Hopefully I have explained myself well.

Glad that your mate is happy with the results, but personally I'd never do any computer changes without a dyno just to make sure everything is in order..

Would have been interesting to see std dyno chart against tek2.
