Ok well i guess i forgot to mention that im a mechanic, so all i'll be worry about paying for is for the parts.

i was thinking of offering him 10k plus extra 500 for the wrx engine. The guy has no clue on price of these things which makes it hard coz he thinks he can get more than what their actually worth.

My plan if i did go ahead n buy it is get the wrx motor, keep it at work until i have the money to fix it, then spend most the money on the wrx engine to get it working and to give it a bit more power. (forgies, injectors etc.)

Then wack it in and get maxium motor sport down the road from me to tune it.

Im guessing just for the rebuild not including the forgies and injectors etc, will cost me no more than 3k to do. coz im only paying for parts and the engineer will do all the engineering for cheap coz we give him heaps of work.

O would the Vf23 turbo fit on the wrx engine or is that a bad idea go for a different turbo upgrade?

You, as a mechanic, should be aware of how much you should be offering for it anyway I would of thought

Alrite im a aprientice mechanic, n yes i no exactly how much its worth, it all comes down to weather he will sell it for that much. This is my first wrx but second suby, i dont no why but im wont 1 now so i would settle for anything but i part of me knows i should wait for sumthing gud.

I see how i go wid this guy, prob make n offer nxt week coz dads away this week, n hes a fully qualifyed mechanic for 25yrs which helps a bit n he will be able to help to bargain with this guy.
But i'll let you all know how i get on with it ok.

The price of something is determined by what else u can buy for your money. So offer him what its worth, if he says no, say thats fine, but im going to have to go with the best deal for me, and buy this other car.

Hmm i wouldnt touch it... a repsray will cost u around 2k.. and the interior on the 94s are preety shit. No buckets or the like..

Gbox would be pretty weak considering done 160k.

Even though ur a mechanic i think that the car will cost u around 10-15gs to get in a decent condition so 25k including cost of car is alot for a 94..

I think u can buy a decent 94 for around 12-15k. If u want a project car buy a GC shell then buy a sti GC half cut and convert...

Doadrift recently bought his 94 for $8000 I think he said. That needed a little work so I would say this would be around the same sorta value. The spare motor, depends on what is on it. I had a spare engine that I had robbed the timing covers and gears off. I sold that for $100 just to get rid of it.
