Default build time

im looking at doing some mods in the new year and i was wondering how long i should expect it to take, i know this can vary a great deal due to set backs etc but im wondering whether its worth budgeting for a bunky while the car is in the shop (dunno how long mum and dad will put up with me borrowing their cars)...

Planned mods:
-New motor/rebuild (depending on current state)
-Bigger turbo
-bigger top mount
-injectors
-Fuel pump
-new ecu and tune
-and any other supporting mods required

So basically just after an estimate as to how long peoples builds have taken...im new to this kind of thing so trying to get some plans happening early

Thanks fellas

Pre build the motor and purchase your accessories ahead of time. Engine swap should not take more than 2 days. Tune, run in, retune done.

Depends on what you do to the motor build wise. All the other stuff shouldn't take longer than a few days. If you plan a serious build with the motor allow for around 2 weeks if all the parts and everything are ready to go.

What recipe are you looking at 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.5L? What's the intended application and your expectations? or put another way...Do you intend to use it on a track or masturbate over the dyno plot?

thanks for the replies guys..sticking with the 2 litre at this stage although 2.2 would be nice! In terms of goals 300 horsepower would be the mark im aiming to beat...unsure of my current motors age and how many kms its done. but from what previous owner has said its a strong motor with forgies but its getting some whining bearing (i think) noises happening at the moment. Wondering whether its worth the hassle of rebuilding the current one or starting a new with a fresh 207?

Id be trying to get to as many no limits and ahg meets as i could and would run the quarter here and there see how it goes
