I had the stock headers on with TBE for about 3 weeks and put these headers on last weekend. I think they sound great!! It's hard to describe the sound, basically sounds similar to before, just angrier and it’s actually quieter at idle and cruising which was surprising.

I've only driven at light loads so far but I noticed a difference straight away. The car tries to get up and go much earlier in the revs and throttle response is great!

1.4bar shouldnt bother it too much, but to be safe, who knows what the timing is doing...

But, if its the std ecu its probably retarded it a fair bit.

So how do you suppose to "tune" it? Your still running the std ecu hey?

Does the car feel faster or slower than stock? Actually its probably not a good idea to find this out...

Seriously, go and bomb 1000$ on the credit card and get it verso'ed. you will be happy you did.

Yeah it's booked in for a reflash at ASG next week. Not sure how much boost they will put in it or what power/torque to expect. We will see I guess.

After installing a 3in TBE I had issues with hitting boost cut ( the exhaust side is just to small to flow the extra air with a good exhaust). Even with the waste gate open 100% it would still build boost.

Don't be surprised if after a tune if you start hitting boost cut occasionally.

Add a decent size turbo to that goodies list and you wont have any issues and will go so much better.

Yeah I want to keep the stock TMIC and didn't think it was worth it to upgrade the turbo. I guess if the car hits boost cut alot I'll have to tell the girlfriend we need a new one. I would love to get one of them AVO 450S turbos you have, but unsure as to how the stock motor would hold up in the long run. But I guess in the end engine reliability comes down to the tune.

55K Km. 80 odd passes at the plex with about a 1/3 on the bigger turbo. 60 odd laps of the long track at barbs ( Old turbo with the boost cut ) 2000km of flog the hell out of it driving round Tassie on recent trip. 2 AHG days. There is video evidence I was giving it a bit to though not in Kato's league of GIVING IT A BIT.

All still good. Compression fine, uses sweet FA oil. Think it more comes down to how safe a tune you run in it. Lane knows this is a bit of a toy but it is also the only car in the house so as soon as the intake temps started to go up that was were the tune stopped. Only running just over 17 PSI.

Beauty of it the way it is is the mid range torque is just unreal. Only need to rev it to just over 5g rpm cos it is quicker in the next gear. Easy to drive VERY fast on a windy road and not really be hurting it to much.

Tyres on the other hand suffer terribly in Tasmania. Even RE070's

Disclaimer. This all comes with a great big touch wood. Probably pop now that I have opened my mouth.

Oh yea. I'm still on the standard top mount. Don't like cop attention. Thats what the gixxer is for!!!
