It''s nitpicking, I know, but they really could have given the sedan a better looking exhaust. Whereas the Hatch has a nicely sized single tip, the sedan gets two pea shooters that look like they were nicked from a Mazda 2.

(BUMP) Edit: Wheels has tested it. Report looks very favourable.

They've compared it to the Ralliart lancer, but you'll have to wait til December 17th to find out who wins (when the next issue hits the stands)

Yeah, it does seem to be doing that intermittently for some reason.

However the link I posted was working earlier this arvo, then stopped, and was working again at about 5:30pm.

anyway I've re-posted the link in the message above just to be sure. it seems to be working now (touch wood)

The reviews I've read on the Ralliart have been fairly average, some good, some not so good. So I'd put my money on the 09 WRX coming out on top. According to the article it's putting out times of 5.3 for the 0 - 100? That can't be right, surely! Maybe they got the figures mixed up and have quoted a 0 - 60mph time instead of a 0 - 62mph time.

Yes, the reviews on the Ralliart that I've seen haven't made me want to reach for my chequebook. I love the looks of the Lancer, (sedan, the hatch is awful) but the lack of a manual is a huge disappointment. The sales people say that the TC-SST is fantastic, but that's beside the point.

Just paid a visit to City Subaru so their "service dept" could inspect the turbo oil line and install the bracket fix. While I was there I had a good look at the 09 WRX sedan and they let me give one a belt around the block. Def a step up on the old pig wrx sedan and goes pretty good. Would I buy one? No but I expect there will be plenty who do.

'Motor' mag has tested the MY09 WRX against the Lancer Ralliart.

They preferred the 'rex

The Lancer, while quite a nice car, is a less cohesive package then the Subaru, and the TC-SST is flawed. IIRC 'Car' (UK) said the same thing about the TC-SST in the Emo.

TC-SST is flawed? Only because its faster than a manual I guess... Can't have that now

The TC-SST in the Ralliart is different from the one in the Evo. Doesn't have Super Sport mode. Only has the two slower shifting modes. Welcome to the worst of all worlds.
