I realise this won't appeal to everyone, but I was wandering what is the loudest wrx exhaust you have heard? I've done a search, but there isn't a thread on this particular topic...

The loudest exhaust on a WRX I've ever heard was a turbo-back side pipe (straight off the back of the turbo, exiting behind the front wheel) blasting antilag flames right near my head whilst attempting to sleep, at 6.00am, Motorvation 2004.

side pipes, no mufflers, no resonators & no cats.

i might DIY that during the holidays if i get bored enough cept for side pie

if you do remove cats/resonators be prepared to put up with the smell when u get out the car / come to a stop.

3" turbo back pipe, no mufflers, no cats, nutting

be prepared to deal with pissed of neighbours, friends, family etc when you rattle the shit out of the windows as you go belting past...

also good for flames on back off, police attention, and deafening the shit out of anyone who happens to be beside you in the tunnel..

infact i still have the pipe, its from the end of the dump pipe back, needs a flange welded to it, is made of mild steel and yours for $50

No muffler sounds fucking absolutely shit house, and that is putting it nicely.

None of my "race track only" cars have ever had cats and I've never noticed a smell?
