It shouldnt be impossible, there was some dude on here or maybe it was the vic wrx forum selling an 04/05 for $30something K Think it was $32K cos he had to sell it urgently for a deposit on a house or something. Just take some time and your mate will stumble across one

I would say if he waits and takes time he will find something.. and just after christmas they are all another year older so price will drop more and more specially with 06 wrx being out now..

Might get an 03 stocker for low 30's but I doubt you would find one under the 30 mark... then ya need $$$ for transfer fee/stamp duty/insurance etc.
