Recommendations on Good Pads and Rotors?
I have got just over 40,000km out of my rotors and they are shuddering and driving me crazy! I have had them skimmed, it is good for about 1000km then they are back to normal.
I am thinking of getting some slotted/cross drilled rotors and decent pads. I do no MC events, anything like that but just don't want to have to replace the rotors so soon as well as I want some decent stopping power. Can anybody advise what I should be looking for and $$$ values? Any help is appreciated. Cheers Dan |

i reckon even for street use you can't go wrong with DBA4000 and Ferodo2000 (or 2500)
Alternatively, some DBA slotted rotors (650) with Bendix Ultimate will be fine |

Agree, the 4000 rotors and 2000s for street will be fine. If go cross drilled don't go track. For street it'll be all good.

DBA 4000 XS Drilled and Slotted first choice. Second choice DBA Gold: insert usual disclaimer ...not recommended for track but thats what you want and the drilled look very nice! Check with Shane at Exleys Tyre and Brakes in Willeton for prices |

To be honest, the DBA650 slotted rotors and Bendix ultimate brake pads are the best cost effective package available.
Cross drilled rotors are known to suffer from problems such as cracking. Even if you do not plan to do MC, etc at the moment, you never know you just might get into it later on. Why take the risk, just go for the slotted ones They look pretty good as well! Price wise, the Bendix Ultimate brake pads gave me no problems at all even after 2 years of usage, and that includes a fair amount of track work on a fairly modded WRX. I may not be the quickest driver, but I think it is fair to say that I am no sloth as well and do get decent results at MC. It might have a lot to do with your own driving style as well, but as far as mine goes, my Ultimates still had about 40% left after 2 years (daily street + track), DBA650 rotors still had plenty of meat left. Obviously there are better brake pads around, I'm just commenting based on cost. The Ultimates are a fair bit cheaper than others. Dust-wise, they're just like the others - all sport/performance pads are dust storms. |

DBA650's and some pads mentioned above, will be able to get front and back done for under a grand easy..

I had the boys at RMS fit me up DBA4000 slotted & DS2500's $770 earlier in the year, stops like a bitch, no squeal and cheaper than Std suby parts....
I was very happy for the price...... Al |

I have the 2500s on standard rotors and the stop much harder than stock and behave very nicely.
