Default 95 wrx differences?

hey guys i have a 1995 wrx, and would like to know a little bit more about it, mine is a gc8 version 1? my95??

now it looks like some of the aftermarket parts are on the cusp of the change over of model.

some parts say 96 and up, like the light angel eye headlights (the fitment isnt quite right with the bonnet??), bodykits...so what are the main differences?>

,what are interchangable from the later models, turbo's,exhausts, fmic kits, diff, box? and to what year..

would aftermarket rear lights be pretty much fine through all of the gc8's?

anything would be great.
cheers.

and if i had about 2k to spend on mods, what would you guys do? and where would you get it done?

my runs the td05 turbo?? are there simply swaps from the later models?

Good to see you back in a rex Pete...
Tail lights are the same on all GC8s. If you are going to swap them get some STI lights. Dont go altezzas, they look shit. The angel eye headlights will not fit unless you put a later model bonnet on. The facelift model was 97. If you change the bonnet to the later one the later headlights and grill will be a direct fit.
As for the turbo, I have heard of a few people putting the TD05 onto the later models so I think that putting a TD04 would be a step backwards? I am not so good on the turbo side of things.

On a side note, get some pics up of it.

sorry i thought the td05 came on the 95...it doesnt? what is it stock?

and what is invovled when changing to a newer spec turbo? fits straight on the manifold?

the facelift model was 97? as on ebay, says from 96 up? so the bonnet just fits straight on? will i need to upgrade the grill aswell for fitment?? then the headlights will fit nicely?

not looking for crazy power, just with a bit of go, i was thinking exhaust, bigger tmic and bit of boost, but will my standard turbo like that?

my95 DOES come with a td05. Only some of the Wagons and Automatics came with a td04

ahh ok sweet, 15/16 psi would be pushing the limits wouldnt it? what does it run factory boost? i was thinking about tmic and exhuast it then would naturally wind it up a bit? looking at something around 12 or 13psi maybe..

its a 4door manual sedan, so yeah 100% td05 then? cool....why werent the later turbo's as good? seems a step backwards indeed.

and what shops would you guys recommend? im freo area aswell.

and does rallye sticker on the back mean anything?? looks like to be factory momo steering wheel and nardi gearknob...

Yeah dont trust ebay. 97 was the first year with the new bonnet, and then 98 followed by updating to the later interior.
My car is 96 GX and when I did the conversion I have put on the later bonnet, along with MY99 headlights, and grill. Bolts straight up. I still have a 97 front bumper so you dont need to change that if you are happy as is.

ahh ok, i might look out for a dark blue 97+ bonnet then (will the colour be the same?), if not might look out for a black 1.

and once again, did the rallye version sticker mean anything? or just a nice decal?

the momo steering, nardi knob and 260 dash all normal?

any other info would be great guys, like if all the tmic kits match up on the gcb or the exhaust kits.

rallye sticker = decal.
i had a momo wheel, and nardi knob. pretty sure i had a 260 dash aswell.

tmic kit is different for your gc8. even the option of a fmic. some can be modified to fit your model. the reason why the early gc8 is different is because it has an angled intake manifold, where as 97 onwords was straight. theres a few manufacturers that make tmic's for the early gc8. or just grab a china fmic.

also since my tmic is on an angle, how will it work when i then get a 97+ bonnet, is it simple enough to change the TMIC to be straight on my engine setup to suit the bonnet?
