Default Jacking points and axle stands

Hey guys when your jacking your car up using a trolley jack where abouts do you place it?

And where abouts do you put your axle stands?

Sorry to ask a stupid question... but all the jack stands I have and have seen have a flat top and the primary jacking points along the sides have only a small flattish area on the inside with that lip running down the side-skirt area that would be severely mangled by a stand that is flat?

Is there a better place for the flat-top stands or a modification that people use to place them under the car without damaging it?

about 100mm towards the centre of the car from those front green spots.... similar kinda position at the back. as in pic below



doesnt do much damage if you put them on the ridged bits though, its built tough

edit: or the 'alternate jackstand points' marked in purple on the other pic

Thanks colonel wrx, so anywhere on the metal underbody part around that area is strong enough.

And with the purple alternate positions from the pic, do these correspond to particular landmarks on the suspension/chassis as its hard to tell from that small pic!

under the sill pannels is the perfect place to lift your car from. or put stands under. going under the floorpan is ok but they can dent a little depending on the stands you use.
