Umm, picking people up doesn't engage anti-hijack.
Only comes into play if your seat belt comes off and driver's door is opened. For the rare couple of times that the anti hijack ever came on for me, it gave piece of mind that the car was harder to steal.

I got it turned off by subaru. Its FUCKING DANGEROUS the first time it happened to me I stopped with the car running and took my seatbelt of to lean out and put a card in the machine at a carpark to open the gate. Pulled out started driving and BANG engine cuts out and im in the middle of an intersection in peak traffic.
When was the last time someone in Perth got mugged? Your better of just locking your fucking doors people. Brant is shit, its so secure you cant even drive your own fucking car. |

The constant beeping of the brant telling you it was going to go into cut out, then the cylinder cut out before full engine off, didn't tell you to pull over to check what was happening?

When my girlfriend entered the car 40 seconds later it started beeping. So i guess ill ask subaru to check and test next time its in for a service

Anti-hijack mode should only kick in as Kato has said if the Drivers seat belt has been undone, or even if the seat belt is done up and the drivers door is opened then shut again the anti hijack will start its chirping for 40 sec.
I'm not sure if this works on all models but if you start your car with your seat belt and door open then jump in and buckle up and close the door the anti hijack wont kick in if you open the door or take off your seat belt. Have tried this in my car and it seems to work. |

I think you will find no-one wants to answer as our cars security is a very touchy subject.
Personally, I wouldn't even like people to know that my pin has 6 digits in it... When you pick someone up, just don't get out yourself. problem solved. Doadrift - brant has saved my car once already so I think in your case its a user issue?

It didnt beep for me. it beeped once as it shut off, did the alarm locking BEEP BEEP that it does (03 sti). Recently it wouldn't allow me to prime my fuel pump and now it refuses to recognize when I try to de immobilize it to drive. Its in at subaru getting looked over.
CYCLOPS alarm for the win, had it on my silvia and have it on the missus wrx, its also going onto my Rx7. Fucking WAAAAY better alarm. But I guess its all personal opinion and theft experience. |

Brant would have warned you before it cut your engine.
How is a cyclops better than a brant? Know your facts before you call it shit.

I know the facts. I know that brant has caused me the only problems I have had with this car. I know what a beep sounds like. It did it to me quite a few times so I got it turned off. The car is insured, if someone robs me I'll buy another one. I'd rather be able to drive me car without this stupid system annoying me all the time.
Also brant is the immobilizer etc aswell so if you cant see how brant is part of the alarm and how brant is part of a security system you need to think for a minute. Also a quick search of the forum shows Im not the only one who has had a terrible run with there brant. I will call shit, shit anyday. |
