Highlight of the day was going to the pit area and speaking to the driver / owner of that crazy V6 Twin Turbo Charged car that was leading his race by miles only to slide into the dirt on turn 1 in the last lap. He actually told my mate and I that the car was detuned to 550 hp from 800 hp because he could not get the right tyres for the car. Sure enough I see him after the accident back in the pits and confirms that those tyres just failed him.

I was round the esses for the whole race and he's telling you porkies. Had it step out a little every lap coming out of Cat and was very squirmy going into the left hander up the hill. Also ran wide on the last corner at least once. The tyres might not be what he would like to run but he was plain and simple over driving it. Not having a go at him cos I'd be doing the same. Looks like a hoot to drive but you push it that hard and you will come unstuck.

The P plate on the back also proves he isn't that experienced with the thing.

hey thats my old car, they are not volk rims, they are a copy of the TE37, im pretty sure u can get them from west state tyres in bentley.

not sure if they still stock them or not

Did anyone get any good shots of the green Monaro??? Got a couple of phone pics for the old man ( he used to have one almost identical ) but a good shot or two would be nice to email him.
