I just folded the boot lower and put black cord through the top and tied it tight... so that it looks snug at the base of the stick .. I dont have the silver thing underneath my reverse lockout for pulling up reverse .... just the black circle plate of my kart boy short shifter. easy as.

You got a camera ph Simo?

5.5k (cash, which wasn't mentioned untill later), drive in drive out. But in my case the rear diff, clutch & flywheel also needed replacing due to wear.

Edit-spelling

I do but phone doesnt send pics properly.... the result if you can imagine is like a a loose fitting boot around the short shifter but the "hole" is covered by the short shifters plate...the shorts shifter has a circular plate that would be used to support the silver thing on a proper 6 speed. That plate now sits on top of my gearboot..so you cant really see that its not stitched properly at the top..

I just chopped about an inch off the top of my boot and punched some holes in it and then put a black cord through and tied it fairly tight ... just below the black disc... and you cant really see it that much.

Also if you get a short shifter I can show you the trick of how get the reverse lockout wire through the new shifter without it dropping through floor etc.
