I want MORE

ok guys so i want some more power im running the following engine mods:

ej207 with forged internals
Autronic PnP ECU with Anti-Lag & Rotational Idle
IHI VF34 Turbo
Trust Front Mount Intercooler
MMS 3" butler Exhaust
MMS Up-Pipe
High Performance Bosch Fuel Pump
BPM silicon turbo inlet
Cats Removed
Apexi C.A.I
AFM removed

i recently had the tune cleaned up by sean @ allstar garage and the car pulls pretty hard now as it never realy had a retune since it had been rebuilt the car made 275hp @ 1.3bar i will post up a dyno graph soon... the boost is a constant curve and doesnt drop off at all so pretty much what im saying is boost is just constant all the way to redline :) .... i have had the car a while now and the car is just feeling like an excel because im used to it what can i do to break the 300 mark and achieve around the 320-350hp mark

my question is headers, turbo, injectors, tune?

kind regards

WRXRW 19-08-2009 01:18 PM

get rid of all that and start again!

big turbo, big injectors, big wallet!

blue.spec 19-08-2009 01:20 PM

bit harsh ramon motors running great atm

Boosted 19-08-2009 01:20 PM

All three will get you there

sleepy 19-08-2009 01:22 PM

td05/td06 20g and injectors would get you over 300HP.

WRXRW 19-08-2009 01:24 PM

harsh but its the truth.

don't expect huge horsepower with a what you have and b the moth's coming from your wallet when you open it.

blue.spec 19-08-2009 01:27 PM

not saying it would be cheap but i can buy most the parts over time

WRXRW 19-08-2009 01:33 PM

autronic doesn't like big aftermarket injectors, so late model intake manifold with decapped top feeds. either run rotational idle all the time or buy a stand alone boost controller. expense of either running relocated wasted spark coil pack to another position in the engine bay with extended leads or individually wire in plugs for each coil.

this is but one of many things you have to get your head around if you want to do it right or bodge it all together.

replacing your stock my99 heads with something better suited to the new turbo/power band is also a good step in the right direction.

trainwrex 19-08-2009 01:35 PM

Uestion is how much hp. Hp increases directly with money increases.

EXPLICIT 19-08-2009 01:44 PM

Everything's in place, possibly some bigger injectors (decaps), P20 housing on the 34 or a larger bolt on and don't be scared of boost i.e. 1.7bar.

BALISTC 19-08-2009 01:46 PM

If your cams are original, they'll be holding you back a bit too... can't see you making 340-350 easily without a BIG huffer on it, and what I mean is BIG, I mean not a TD05-20G. TD06 or bigger.

300hp is achievable though, with more BOOST! Your bottom end can handle it, so go with the P20 as Jme mentioned.

IMPRESHER 19-08-2009 01:57 PM

NOS! :) cheap and gots all the power you might need at times like this...

Or

You can buy my Greddy 20g turbo kit so then i can upgrade to something else??

Expect lag!

blue.spec 19-08-2009 02:00 PM

you can keep your steriod snail benny

RICOCHET 19-08-2009 02:03 PM

My Autronic handles the 880cc's fine in my car

teejay 19-08-2009 02:03 PM

10 degrees of timing across the board should do it.

No promises on how long it does it for.

I'd just do this for the time being then when you get bored with it pull the motor out and work the heads.

American Dave 19-08-2009 02:09 PM

nitrous for the win problem solved

edit: ok forget Nos and move to bigger snail as the boys are suggesting. Everything is there for it already and with your engine more boost should be a priority not a questions mark. :D

pnp or wire in smc?

Jim621 19-08-2009 02:17 PM

Mate,

buy yourself a diesel 4wd or something equally slow. when you get used to the power of the wrx, jump in the 4wd for a drive....then bam! you will be happy with the power of the wrx!

problem solved!
Just buy Tino's car :D
Yep do that problem solvered.

waxdass 19-08-2009 02:25 PM

mate, just slap a p20 housing on the 34...

Turn the whick up boost wise and you will crack 320hp and 420nm+ I rekn. Just refine the tune, im sure it can get there...

IMPRESHER 19-08-2009 02:31 PM
you can keep your steriod snail benny
Weak! :)

P20 rear housing and boost as stated.

RUSSGT 19-08-2009 02:33 PM

I dont think a p20 will give you 45 more hp at the wheels. Twist mount td06, rev manifold, boost.

American Dave 19-08-2009 02:35 PM

like to see your graphs from tune you got this week?

waxdass 19-08-2009 02:36 PM

certainly has potential to reach it... and torque definatly.
just add boost & tune tune tune

dave..gotta scan em.

BLUES 19-08-2009 02:53 PM

VP109, Martini 110, CSR E85 should do the trick.

American Dave 19-08-2009 02:54 PM

LOL those farking tags

BALISTC 19-08-2009 03:06 PM

I'll say it again... CAMS.

Your saying the p20 vf34 can reach 320hp? How much boost you running with that setup?

waxdass 19-08-2009 03:24 PM
Your saying the p20 vf34 can reach 320hp? How much boost you running with that setup?
yes,
how much boost?
Dunno..but hes got a forged EJ207.. so put 1.8bar in, some bigger injectors and it will definatly be right up there.

On mine im running 20psi, but nothing to judge by as my instructions were for quick tune street tune so i can have boost control - in order to setup my Aquamist properly, before it gets tuned again.

I was running only wastegate pressure with the stock ecu.

mattmy99 19-08-2009 03:42 PM

I agree with Joesac. Pull the heads off, port and polish (be prepared to pay 1000's, a good port job takes a shit load of time, and can be expensive), throw some 10mm cams in, and match port the intake manifolod while you're at at.
That with P20+2bar=320 easy.

blue.spec 19-08-2009 03:43 PM

so what your saying tode is buy some bigger injectors and a p20?? what difference will the p20 make over my p18?

sleepy 19-08-2009 03:46 PM

it will make 2 difference..

waxdass 19-08-2009 03:51 PM

im saying that if u want to acheive at least 320hp, then ur talking more boost and fuel.
vf34-p20 will acheive that for you, but ur gonna have to push it more than you would a td06.
Your Autronic is a great computer - and essentally just pay for a thorough tune to make it all work like it should.

dont bother with a tdo5 - might as well buy a p20 housing and create something similar.
Td06 - too laggy for a 2ltre i rekn.. (i had one)

also a nice set of headers will certainly help.

EVL WRX 19-08-2009 03:52 PM

sell rex, buy evo + full zorst, verso and cams... 310+hp all day...
