Default Which Block?? Closed or EJ207

Hi All,

I have a choice of the following set-up :-

2.2 stroker, brand new 09 sti 2.5 crank, acl race bearings, new mahle pistons, new spec c rods, bored and honed to +.5mm and blocks tops machined.

The issue is I can have the above in a EJ207 block or a closed deck RS Liberty block.

Which should I go for?

Would appreciate opinions please......

cheers

semi-closed 207, they moved away from closed deck blocks for better cooling.

'207 for sure.

GAV, while it's being built, I'd be putting a better set of rods in it.

I spoke to the engine builder, he said this would not be an issue, he uses the closed deck block in his rally car.

Thanks all

id go with a closed deck block. Just getting a bigger radiator and fans if you think cooling could be a problem?? In any case there should be enough meat in the block to go a 2.2??

Close, 2.2 and the VF36 I have.

Just need to sell my Spec C first.

I actually have the 2.2 with the 207 block at my house already, closed deck block 2.2. is being built as we speak
