Default Ignition issues?

OK. Driving home from work in this shitty rainy weather and the car starts to drop cylinders to the point where its running on 1 pot and won't move.

The car is now stuck on the side of the road and I need to get it moving.

The car is a 99 MY00 GC8 has a K&N pod and cold air STI scoop. Could this be messing with the MAF?

Need help. Cheers guys.

Could it be a coil pack?

Check to see if it has sucked in water through the pod.

A little bit of moisture can mess with the AFM causing those sorts of problems. A lot of water has obvious consequences.

possible afm seeing as your running a k&n.. they always seem to stuff them due to the oil

could be water getting past the filter and contaminating the AFM or dirty contacts at the coil pack or spark plugs.

Use a can of water dispersant to clean the contacts at the plugs and coil pack and cross your fingers

Well I've gone back and started it. It ran normally, so got it home ASAP.
Think Ill take the AFM (not the MAF :P) apart for a look see.
I have a 3ARacing pod in the post to replace the oiled K&N. But the suspect could well have been a little water on the sensor as suggested.

Cheers guys. Feel like such a noob with this car.

i have exactly the same problem during wet weather with my pod filter. if you lift the bonnet you most likely see a few beads of water sitting in the grooves of it. Im pretty sure, at least for mine, it gets in the front grills on the bonnet and flicks up on the filter. Best bet is to barely drive it at all so it doesnt suck the water in.

Once it dries out you should be fine, but for some extra measure you can rip out your afm and give it a good spray with electrical contact cleaner
