Think im just going to bite the bullet and get either GD or 99/00 Heads and GD manifold and injectors and rails. what else will i need to make it possible. do i need the wiring harnes for the injectors or they all same connectors?

o yeh the whole clearing the alternator and aircon and p/s, thinking of making up some spacers so the manifold sits higher up. YAY or NAY??

Going to have 98 heads and manifold up for sale then.

on the 97-98 wrx/sti intake manifold,Its the IAC that is the problem, cut it off and re-weld it back on were it fits...simple mod if you have a mate who can weld alloy.

Well after realising that muggs manifold dosent fit my heads. its kinda left me in a pickle as far as this reversed manifold goes. the only option i can think is give the manifold to my engineer and get him to cut it spin the manifold around and weld it back on. or keep on the search for a reversed manifold to suit 98 heads.

Wouldnt be hard for an engineering shop to cut and weld a standard manifold, It would require a bit of grinding / polishing on the inside at the join,
but with some carefull planing on where to cut it so that it matches up when rotated and the join is easily reached with a small pencil grinder it should be sweet.

Jester's talking shit. The pre 99 manifold pattern is symetrical and can be turned 180 degrees. It's just the plumbing that needs altering. Chop off the ISC valve and bin it.

Don't do it - a reversed manifold would cause all sorts of problems due to having to fight against gravity when accelerating. Lots more power when braking though so I guess that is a plus provided of course you do lots of braking. Why do you think Subaru have it facing backwards??
