Default MY06 mods

Hi guys,
I am getting my first WRX in a couple of months, will by an MY06. I want to do a few little mods like exhaust, cold air intake, unichip, lowering. The questions i have are-
should i consider doing anything else instead of these mods?
are these likely to void the warranty?
I have seen who the unichip tuner's are in Perth, but who do people recommend from past experiences?
Lastly is there anyone in Perth/Australia that sells Mine's Bodykit products?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
James

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, but i'm just wandering what is your reasoning behind an ECUTEK over a unichip? What stage would be best, as from what i understand level 1, 1.5 and 2 are preset maps whereas level 3 is a 'custom' tune?

Utec is not a bad ECU option either.

stinga i used UTEC.

Its OK, but the main issue i had with it is that you can literally feel when the UTEC is switching to its map and when its going back to the stock ecu map

Yeah Tode I know what you mean, not noticeable when foot up it but when light throttle around town it is there sometimes, I think I read that the new software had fixed the problem to some extent??....but car went back to std before I had a chance to try.
I hate to say it but maybe EcuTec is not a bad option for light mods ie zorst, intake etc. Just a bitch that you can't sell it easily compared to the likes of Utec / Unichip etc
MoTec is just so farken expensive - quoted $4650 plus cables for my 06 (M800 plus cam control plus drive by wire) and then you need tuning on top....
Wouldn't be so bad if she was gonna be a ball tearing full on bitch with upgraded injectors, turbo etc, but....
Whats the guts on Autronic these days ie dollars, who sells them and who tunes em?

Suppose your going Motec Wax?

This is probably the worst part about modding, we know what mechanical bits will the do the job, but very hard to come up with the right compromise for ECU.......

Utec will be available in about 2 months for 06, ok, but the transition between OEM and Utec can be noticeable and trust me, no amount of tuning will remove it...

Motec is clearly a great option but bucks....

Autronic not out

Unichip - no thanx

Ecutec, not good resale ability but probably not a bad option for simple mods like zorst, CAI etc.

Thing that I think of is, when I had the bugeye, i did end up going down the injector / turbo route (after I said I was only going to do simple mods ) and if the same happens again I want to make sure I have still got the right ECU for the job.

How many of us ahve changed ECUs cos we are not happy with what we get?

Whata bout these hydra ECU like "aussieinstlouis" runs on Rexnet?
