i had the same thing (chris ap....whatever email too) for 2 cars i was selling and even for a wanted add haha

From a buyers perspective. Have you car available to be seen and in a condition for an inspection at a known performance shop at a moments notice.

Also have a reasonable price on it. I didnt call so many people because they were 5-6k over what I thought was a reasonable price for year/specs.

I ended up going through a dealer for a non-wrx. buying a wrx became just too much of a slog.

Protip: If your car fails an inspection don't demand that you should have a chance to fix the car. If you couldn't get the car in a saleable standard before an inspection what else have you changed last minute or tried to sneak past me?

dodgy as. When I was selling my horse I had stuff come through like that and had a wanted ad up would get dodgy emails, replied to one of them and next thing they were asking me where to ship the horse too!

Hmmm is there steps in place that can make the transaction control the outcome of a possible charge back?

If the apparently 'pick up agent', is authorised by said scammer to pick up the item then they would duly be able to sign a condition of release....?

I know it would be a shitfight as you'd be going up against paypal, but would be nice to beat these fuckwits at their own game.
