i've scoured the net for hours and studied the IHI VF series for what turbo would best suit my car. its an '06 WRX 2.5L with ecutek type 2 and upgraded fuel pump. currently achieving 170kw and 339nm at roughly 11psi.

i'm going second hand so VF34 which seems the best option is very hard to come by. so the options are.....
VF24
VF28
VF35
VF39

What i want to achieve is maximum 16 psi with early spool up and great mid range.

Suggestions?

probs could bump that up to 13 or 14 psi with stock internals + turbo

on a fresh day it reaches 14, but thats its max with stock TD04.

yeah, well because you have a 2.5L you can go with a larger housing for similar spool to a 2.0L on a smaller housing afaik

but that's looking at basics, i'm sure someone else will come and explain it to you in detail, also try the search threads there's lots on people debating on which tubro to put in their cars

well i could narrow my question down to.....is a VF35 too small for a 2.5L? all the stats will tell you is it has the same internals as VF30, but a smaller P15 exhaust housing. i'm guessing this thing will spool awesome on a 2.5L but will it put out 16psi on a 2.5L?

but 20g housing is what you need! probably spools a bit earlier than mine too. especially for a 2.5

hey man i got the same car as u and i'v done a bit of home work , im leaning towards and AVO400l it runs very well with the 2.5 thats always a options for ya.

True fun come from suspension mods, not engine!!

As have I, the model that is, but no homework done here, previous owner spent some time and $ with MMS and installed a AVO400l + some other bits.

Quiet to 2500rpm, wakes up to 3500, then has a habit of throwing your head back into the head rest.

Owned it for 36hrs and loving ever minute
