Turbo installed and car tuned by ASG today, one word describes this turbo...

CRAP

That is all!!!
glad you gave it a shot. I guess with turbos, you get what you pay for.

+1 for graph and further description of its failures.
Really? got a dyno graph? How has it let you down?
Sean's printer had run out of ink so he will email it to me, but it made less power and torque, I understand that it is a 20G but Sean said it should have overtaken the VF36 further into the rev range, it didn't.

. VF36 peak power/torque 270kw/391nm

. eBay crap 250kw/340nm

The graph will show how much worse it is in the rev range!!

I'd give my left nut for a VF42, Wayne or Jamie, would you like a left nut :D

These ebay spec turbos gav are just thrown together, thats why id rather pay a bit more and get something thats proven. Why not stick with a VF37??

The reason I bought the new turbo was the VF36 was leaking oil and I thought the exhaust seal had gone, when the VF36 was removed we found that the oil drain pipe was not the correct one, this may have been the leak.

But I thought what the hell lets try the eBay one whilst we have the VF36 off, I'm not 100% sure if the VF36 is okay or stuffed, is there anyway of checking the turbo to see if the seals are okay??

It proves that ball-bearing turbos are the way to go, so much snappier to drive on the street.

cheers

I reckon the Tomei twin scroll is the go Gav. will be pretty much on par with the 42 i reckon. I also think its the only ball bearing twin scroll option available bar the factory ones.
