Id be making sure everything on the car is in good shape first, engine wise and braking wise. After the nightmare my car was, make sure your blocks in good shape before booting it around or uppin' the boost.

Or a front mount ive herd that front mount you would need to cut out some front bar of the car an also the bumper, but also ive herd with the top mount you would get wicked heat soak which one would be better and which one would i get the most gain out of? Also i was wondering if there is a cold air intake system i could bolt onto my car with out having to get it tuned.
Thanks
For a good explanation on tmic vs fmic read this http://rusubaru.com/intercooler-efficiency/ if you have time (more importantly it lists an alternative solution to aiding in heatsoak - alc + water injection...though im fairly sure the normal water spray is more than enough for a daily).

But if you want to sum it up, to warrant a FMIC you'd need something a little more serious than a td04/vf34.

On a stock or slightly larger turbo a FMIC is overkill on wrx's especially if the car is a daily driver even more so being a 2.0L (would you want additional lag that isn't giving you any added bonus?).

If the car is track driven every weekend hard thats a different story.

Daily drive with light trackwork = TMIC, all day everyday.

Simply...

FMIC = Laggy, heavy and remove the front bumper beam.

TMIC = Better spool, factory stealth, good enough for 95% of the applications out there. (STi spec TMIC not WRX).

When you actually need a FMIC, you will know it.
