Come to Phuket - makes zig zag look like a walk in the park. That's before the other cars and bikes get involved.

You will also find loose gravel on the road in some bends.

I did the zigzag for the first time at 8pm at night in a TT soarer... not the most fun i've ever had and i couldn't even get up past 25km/hr plus the corners were a whole heap of fun in a lowered land boat that is a soarer

FFS. Its a bit of bitumen.

Common sense says don't out drive your visibility ( Headlight range or what you can see round corners ) and stay within your talent level.

If your intending to drive a bit of road with the attitude that your likely to have an accident then you seriously need to consider doing some motor sport for your fix and easing off on the road.

Do a recce run if you want to up the speed a bit. Not perfect but your a lot less likely to get an unpleasant surprise.

I will be starting rally in the next 12 months or so. My plan is to get a b-reg.

Couldn't have said it better! I have been down zig zags a million times in the dark. Don't be a tool and you will be fine.

Kangaroos are what you need to be wary of when it's night time - at any speed. I see roos probably two outta three times when going down the zagz... and some of them come very close!
I have a friend who has seen a roo, stopped his car... only to have the roo turn toward him and bounce right into the car, smashing front panels!
They're unpredictable even to themselves, so keep both eyes out.
