There is no such thing as a 'safe boost increase'.

If you have a bugeye, you will need a retune to increase the boost, which will make sure the correct fuelling, timing etc is in place to match the increased boost level.

Search for ECUTek or Verso.

I've 'safely' run 2 bar of boost on a GD wrx as it was tuned accordingly.

yeah sorry havnt updated pic sold that car years ago bought a 2000 bugeye last week just wanted a safe boost to run can you tell me how much is 1.5 bar and would you know what factory pound they run without boost control cheers

munya 01-07-2011 05:45 PM

1.5 bar on a bugeye wont be safe unless tuned i am running that in my bugeye but i have a aftermarket ecu and a lot of supporting mods including injectors and fuel pump not worth risking your motor over a little boost..

To convert bar to psi, multiply the value given in bar by 14.50377.

2 bar = 29.00755 psi
1.5 bar = 21.75566 psi

Heres a converter:
