Evo X MR.
Unknown RPM @ 100kph as I'm normally having a snooze while it drives itself. |
I think the differences are because people approximate what the RPM are. Will check nxt time I'm on the freeway

Somewhere in 2007 the ADR's forced car manufacturers to build in an error to the speedo to comply with a formula. Works out to be about 106 on most cars speedos after the change will give you a true 100.
Before they would have had to comply with this Subi speedos were pretty well spot on. If you want to check RPM then check it against a GPS with both cars. If you have one of the newer inaccurate ones it will read differently to an earlier one. Also box and diff ratios did change through the years. The 06 WRX also revved higher than the 06 STi with both in top gear. The STi was around 2500-2600 from memory. When I test drove the WRX before getting the STi I'm pretty sure it was 3K+ |
Excellent thanks everyone - I can sleep well knowing Im not revving high :-)

All depends on which box you have & which ratio's, also tyres, a 97/8 4.44 STI is about 2,900 @ 100 whereas a 4.1 will be around 2,800, a 3.9 about 2,700 & an Aus 3,9 with 3.4 rear I think is around 2,650, then there is the high and low ratio 6 speeds & RA boxes which pull around 3,400 @ 100

~3200rpm in 5th @ 100kph (GPS accurate) on a 4.44 STI box here.
