Don't know your back history but make sure you get the vehicle checked out before handing over the cash.

300k is getting on. It may be a ticking time bomb just waiting for a new block.

If it has been well looked after though, could last another 100k.

Personally I wouldn't buy it, Id go for the wagon or buy chums.

300k is a bit much, mine is just over 210k and I'm waiting for it to pop

I would buy something cheap and drop a new/er engine in it.

$1500 for exhaust.....pm Wayne (JDM Style) for a price on an import stainless steel one. Less than $1000 or see who is selling a china spec for $650 - $700.

Buy either of those mentioned gc8s, new motor within a year most likely, plus the few mods you mentioned and you would have spent almost as much money as mine to begin with and 1/3 of the km with triple the extras
Join the cruise tomorrow if you're keen to see.
