Default Intermittent Alarm Activation

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have an 02 STI that I park in the drive, not under a carport. On about 3 or 4 occasions this winter the alarm has gone off on nights when it has been quite cold. Did it just now.
Seeing you're likely to get mugged if you go out into the street at night these days I haven't been out to investigate, but in the morning there is no sign of the vehicle having been tampered with and looking out the window I've not seen anyone and our security light hasn't been activated.
Has anyone else had their Brandt alarm going of in certain weather conditions, in this case it seems when it is quite cold.
The alarm switches itself off after a period. I'm sure the neighbours are happy.

While mine is not a Brandt I've had issues with the bonnet switch being a little dodgy. A little WD-40 usually cleans up the contact.

Mine has done this a couple of times, same car, parked outside. I've put it down to a shitty alarm system.

I resoldered the PCB to fix a couple of other issues which could either have caused new problems or they just generally whinge when it gets cold outside.

Something about cold weather interfering with voltages could also cause problems, if there is a voltage drop the alarm system might think something is being tampered with. If the internal battery for the Brant module is dead then maybe they are more prone to these problems?

If the vehicle battery voltage is low the alarm will trigger, a dealer can check the trigger memory for you and tell you what the last trigger was.
Or rip it out and fit something else.

Thanks for the suggestions. If it keeps up I'll have to get it checked or changed (or hang out for warmer nights).

Anyone have suggestions on a good replacement alarm/immobiliser?

Cheers

My dads alarm on his patrol does the same thing. I have a theory, but probably is way off the mark.

Perhaps as the car gets colder parts creak and set off the motion/vibration sensor? much like you can hear your house roof bang, sometimes pretty loudly when it cools down at night and warms up in the morning. Maybe
