Just a warning to not buy this car
 

Hi Guys,

I don't usually post negative comments but I just want to warn people not to purchase this car.

This used to be my car in 2009 and was a write off when the March storms came and it was underwater. The entire engine was flooded and my insurer said it was too risky to fix as it would continue to have electronic wiring problems and the like. Also the car had 202K on the clock where it now says it has 120K. This is a prime example of the shit dealers will do to try and get a sale.

I admit it was a lovely car and bloody quick -- but you cannot trust it now as it was literally underwater!

Just my two cents - if anyone's think of getting this "specific" WRX!

If they have knowingly wound the clock back and are giving false and misleading information about the K's on the car, and you know that for a fact, then maybe you should be reporting it to the relevent authorities. Hopefully it will save some poor innocent sod from getting conned into buying a dodgy car.

There are a few around Perth that were brought in from the east, as there was big storms in Melbourne that damaged cars last year as well
Some are 09 onwards so technically should have new car warranty.
If the car has been submerged above the door sill, eg, the bottom of the doors, the warranty will be voided.
As said above there can be no guarantee that electrical systems wont suffer long term damage.

If you buy from a private yard, do your research, ring Subaru with the VIN and ask where the car came from and when, smell the carpets, even carefully pull one corner back and look for a tide mark.
If they've taken the car to a dealer for repairs, it may be flagged in the database as stormed damaged.
I know of one black MY10 WRX and one MY10 GT LIb that are around Perth with a voided new car warranty, they were for sale from a private yard, the people that bought them may not even be aware.
Buying from a Subaru dealer will not be an issue as most of their cars will be SUbaru assured.

Same dealer i visited to view a 2002 black sti
Rare black sti rims, (looked at them and they were gold rims painted black)
3 sti rims 1 random rim which they didnt know about haha
5 speed
No cruise control
Did not have brembo brakes
Did not have an sti engine
Body used to be blue but was painted a hell dodgy black


Stay away from these guys in wangara haha
