They removed the plates and suspension and sold her on.

Sold our first 99' RX to a P plater (chic), was written off two weeks later. Just sold our next 97' RX to another P Plater (chic), hopefully it will be looked after and not end up like the last one.

Fully rebuilt a Mazda 323 BFMR rally car a few years ago and kep it immaculate, only did 4 rallies in it. Sold it on and the new owner didn't look after it and at one point it looked almost as sad as it did when I bought it. It was tarted up for the last Rally Australia in Perth in 2006. Re-sprayed and sign written to match the works 323 that won the RA in 88'. The car was on display in the foyer of the Sheraton. Last I heard it had been sold over east after the gearbox was blown at a night AutoCross at the Motorplex.
I feel the pain of everyone who builds and maintains a nice car, sells it on and sees it go down hill.

My first 98 wrx is with a good mate of mine and is now even better then when I had it. I'm not to sure how the 06 STI is going, but hopefully it is still being looked after because that was a great car and wish I hadn't of sold it! But the gc8 I have now makes up for that error in judgement
