Rumour or not, I still like it ;) Lots of rumours and info floating around the intertubes at the moment, just need to hold out another 4 weeks before we know what the score is! |
I did actually, as we are all aware if this come out at $100k no one would buy it. I'm pretty sure Subaru would be well aware of this too.
Who is to say this is a model that needs to be priced above the current STI? Or given the amount of rumors saying the WRX and STI are moving away from being on the Impreza platform, this isn't going to be the new "STI"?
Logic would dictate that with several years of costly joint development between two companies, and mass hype this wont be their entry level shitbox. So a full specced sti driveline wearing one would probably be a costly thing. |

If they have spent all this time and development money to come out with a 200hp 4 cyl in both Toyota and Subaru badges, the whole team involved should go straight to the failbus. I personally think if the STI version is priced the same as the current STI, it will sell well. In fact I would hazard a guess that you'll see a base model rolling in at under $40k going up to a STI spec at $80k. Hopefully cheaper, but I doubt it! |
come on guys it can't be that hard to throw in a 207 can it?

Looks like a Crossfire from the back.

It is already done. There is no Impreza badging on MY11 WRX/STI, And from the MY12 Impreza they will be completely separate as far driveline and body goes too. It is very likely we will get a BRZ in Australia, as for an STI variant, I've heard nothing, but I would guarantee it would be priced around or above the WRX STI. As for fitting a 207, the EJ engine is being phased out, as it cant meet Euro 7 emission standards, it will only just meet Euro 6. Whereas the FB engine can and will, the FB-C we get in the Forester is designed with direct injection in mind, as its very similar to the FB-A thats in the BRZ |

NASIOC thread on the BRZ, check the estimated pricing |
Looks hot, front like an S8 RX7, rear like an Audi R8. Maybe its underpowered but does anyone know how much it weighs?
