Finally sat in one last night as well. Couldn't be farked with wet laps, so test drive will have to be on the weekend.
I was suprised at the size of the car. Much larger than I expected for the price. Interior on the GTS was well finished for the price too. Front seats were comfy as and even fit my 6'4" brother in with room for a helmet. Unless you are 5' tall, you will not fit anyone (or much) in the back seats. 6'+ and the seat is basically fully back touching the rears. Boot space is not bad too and it comes with a full size alloy spare! I'm very keen to see what Subaru releases/prices which shouldn't be too far away now.

just came back from city toyota after having a look @ the 86
love the shape and the interior, would have liked if the salesman revved it past 3000rpms , was told that they have already sold 8 |

GT interior was rubbish, plastic door cards, and generally a tacky looking interior, but I guess you get what you pay for. It also only had a steelie spare. I'm surprised they didnt have space savers. I thought the boot space was OK but it felt very shallow. GTS was certainly much nicer and I think worth the extra money. As for what Subaru are doing - isn't it almost a bit of a null point? Its a limited 200 car run for this model year and as far as I was aware almost all of them have been preordered already. I'm curious what the price falls out at though. I was told by a dealer to expect mid 40s but then that was just after Toyota pricing was announced so who knows. EDIT: The clutch felt extremely light - lightest I've ever driven. Very linear with a high bite point - would take some getting used to thats for sure. Gearbox was also very notchy (triple syncro?) but it was cold. I havn't driven an auto yet although I've heard its an amazing box (for an auto). Haha the one thing I will say - I felt like I was driving with a G25 - the leather round wheel, the notchy gearbox, the light clutch pedal... Anyway.
