Subaru is quoting 13+ months. So early 2014 by their account.

Copy that. Might have to put my name down for one in that case, getting a new daily drive soon and then will want a skid pan/track day toy. BRZ>WRX

Given that Toyota are specifying 18 months for a white manual, TRD are factory supercharging, Subaru are factory turbocharging... I wouldn't be ordering a NA one for delivery in 1.5 years at the moment.

Good points...I could always buy the demo one on car sales for $49,999 :O

Subaru's factory turbocharging will buck the price up at least $15k though, where you can pick up a NA one, and turbocharge it for less than $5k. Ideally I'd like the factory stripped 86 they sell in Japan, that would be a perfect platform for a track hack. Toyota are currently estimating 18 months I think..damn them!

Remember a factory turbo system with a warranty is no where in the same league as a aftermarket 5psi bolt on kit. Factory turbo will probably come with a host of other 'unseen' items making the cost upgrade worthwhile.

My gut feeling is to expect a STI version with the turbo next year.

Good news for those that have a BRZ on order. It's only 2 months but its better than nothing i suppose.

Subaru gives Aussies BRZ Sports Pack - Autoblog

Quote:

Well, it might not be exactly the Subaru BRZ STI that we've all been waiting for, but Australian market shoppers are now going to have the option of adding some STI flavor to their coupe, with this new BRZ S.

Critically, the Sports Pack upgrades included in the S specification do not involve forced induction of any kind for the BRZ's 2.0-liter flat-four mill. Instead, the BRZ S will offer a novel flexible strut tower brace and a coilover suspension to aid its already impressive handling prowess. Visually, the car gets a new aero kit with lowered skirts and a new front and rear splitter, as well as some mean-looking, 17-inch black wheels. Inside, a new gearlever and a STI-branded starter button will call out the S model.

The S package can be ordered on a new BRZ and fitted at the dealer, or added to an existing customer car. When ordered new, the BRZ S adds $7,995 Australian
Moral of the story, buy a BRZ/86, spend $7,000 (Turbo/Supercharger) and profit.

This pack is a waste of time. I highly doubt the coilovers can be adjustable because it wouldn't meet ADR, so can't alter the ride height or dampers.
