AHG standard Harrier Warranty

Hi just keen on peoples input, on this. I own an rs impreza has a standard harrier warranty through AHG, I have serviced my car through the dealership regularly, they picked up that the water pump is leaking. Now they wont claim it under the standard AHG warranty as its a leak that caused it?

Anyone one else had issues or can give me advice on what to do?

Which dealer mate? I can check at work tomorrow (I work for AHG).

Standard harrier warranty is free. It doesn't cover much. You should have a book in your car, or there will be display at the dealership that says what is covered.
You get what you pay for, if you bought the harrier premium warranty, it would have been covered.

Both standard and Premium warranty by ahg covers the "water pump" apprently if the water pump leaks on standard and premium they wont pay either thats what i got told today load of BS!

johnvk7 14-11-2011 10:21 PM

Now I understand, leaks aren't covered, only failure of parts.
This includes oil leaks

hotwheels 14-11-2011 10:23 PM

for a leak to happen doesnt the part internally fail?

johnvk7 14-11-2011 10:29 PM

It will be a leaking seal, not a failed bearing or seizure or a broken shaft. That would be why they wont pay.
I didn't think that water pumps were covered on standard at all, guess they are.

hotwheels 14-11-2011 10:31 PM

thats not stipulated in the warranty brochures for both standard and premium, ahg needs to get the act together, i feel sorry for the people who pay $2k for that warranty and cant claim...

johnvk7 14-11-2011 10:38 PM

Basically, its what is not said, it doesn't say "gaskets and seals", so they aren't covered, unless they need to be replaced in the course of a repair.
Only what is written as covered, is covered.
What I've described could be the only reason that I can think of that they wouldn't pay. Especially if the pump itself is covered.

I like it how they dont cover turbo chargers on their standard warranty even though its a standard fitment across a large range of cars they sell/resell.

Famous Homer Simpson quote when he gets brain damage (from crayon inserion in the nose)

"extended warranty!....how can I lose!!?"

lol.

ahg protected warranty for peace of mind lol haha they may need to reword this to peace of your pocket

If I had a $ for every time I hear the letters AHG in a bad light.

I was fucked by them too. Never again!

hotwheels 14-11-2011 11:28 PM

Is there some sort of complaints line? or something we just move on with?

Wozzernux 14-11-2011 11:41 PM

Not worth the paper it's printed on.

Just move on. I threw my toys at AHG, they did SFA about their lack of service even though they promised the world.

Go take the car to a Subaru specialist (i.e. STechnic). You will most likely get it fixed cheaper and better than AHG.'

As mentioned, these extended warranties are just toilet paper.

A section of the AHG warranties don't cover All wheel drive parts yet most vehicles they sell being all wheel drive!

This has just happened to me dealing with consumer affairs ATM ahg says mods did damage althoug damage was found prior to modification and they refuse to fix under premium and stat warranty never deal with ahg is my opinion I thought they were professionals but apparently not : S

Don't forget your statutory warranty which is up to 3 months/ 5000km.

I think your exaggerating a bit mate, I'm sure its less then 50% of the cars they sell

98kellrs 15-11-2011 09:02 PM

At the end of the day the warranty covers some of the big parts, you can't expect them to cover everything, especially consumables. Gaskets and the like fail regularly, so you can't expect a mechanic to work for free every time a bit of flimsy rubber gets a hole in it. Like others have said, the warranty is free, you get what you pay for.

What irks me is that I HAVE to service my car every 6months to keep my warranty even though I work away so only manage a couple of thousand k's between services.

StubbsR1 15-11-2011 09:16 PM

All warranties in general are a waste of money. All that's covered if the stuff they know wont brake and anything they think might, well you on your own.

I would like to say after alot of phone calls and lame crap excuses, lots of frustration and redtape a fantastic result. The issue about getting the water pump paid for under warranty has now been sorted. I got AHG involved and also the dealer principal Andy Diamantis of Subaru Osborne Park he called me personally. He rectified my issue and has given me a reimburstment the cheque arrived this afternoon. Fantastic to see a great result, and Subaru Osborne Park and the team dealer principal Andy Diamantis has made me happy again and if you ever need a NEW or USED subaru then Subaru Osborne Park is the place to go!!:) Thanks Andy for your overwhelming customer service and fixing my issue! Much appreciated.

I would prefer to never have this problem in the first place so I will never be buying anything from AHG.
