Harness bars
Guys,
I was wondering if anyone can give me information on harness bars? They attach to seat belt attachment points / seat frame bolts. Similar to the one in the pictures. I was wondering if these are ok to use for motorsports purposes, such as no limits nights etc.

Can't see why they wouldn't be allowed at a no limits night. Better than some of the things I have seen people bolt harnesses to!
Illegal on the road though (I was told by the pits they are dangerous as you can have ppl sit in the back seats and bash their heads on the bar in a crash). However, most things are these days. If you can, go a half cage as you then get the roll over protection too. Given the debate on a harness without a cage in a crash, this is why I went with a half cage in my dak dak.

Cheers guys.
I just waned to make sure that these were classified as good enough anchor points for a harness & not just wank wank factor. I intend to start getting into some serious motorsport as soon as I can and the no limits events will be the start of it all. I don't know where it will progress to from there, so trying to figure out if these types of bars are acceptable for all forms of motorsport. XT43, where did you get that bar from? Looks neat all tucked away.

Meridian??
Did you have to modify the interior trim to make it fit?? ie cut holes, I notice you have none of the rear parcel shelf lining etc

Yeah, Meridian. Just have to cut the trim where the seatbelts hook up. Parcel shelf can stay but I was in the process of ripping the interior out.

Refer to this thread. http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...t-harness.html
This is also another idea...

Yeah I've got the eyebolt mounts on the leading edge behind the back seats too which means the back seats have to be removed. That's OK because everything not required gets thrown out.

Yep I have the same set up as the pic Rexxar posted.
I want a bar though as I have no back seat, car is reg'd as a 2-seater (and its not going back in). May ask Burke where he got that bar from.
