Modifying a Liberty RX2.5 1998
G'day
Im looking at making my Liberty sedan a kind of sleeper car, something that doesnt look overly suped up but really is. Also for both the motorplex drags and wanneroo race track on occasion, but mechanically, whould I want to look at if I were to twin sequential turbo this car with an EJ25D? I want accleration and power and work in the mines so I should be able to afford what I need, just need suggestions. |

Hmm.. where to start.
Twin turbo.. forget it. It just doesn't work that well in a Subaru, and you're better off with a single turbo.. don't get me wrong, people have done it in some instances with mild success, but for the most part, a decent sized single turbo will get you the result and power you're after. Do you want to do drags, or track? Two different disciplines, and they require different suspension setups as well as engine characteristics. Do you want to street the car too? You're best off building an all round setup if thats what you're after. If you work in the mines, and you love to brag about being able to afford everything, you're on track to allow workshops to gouge your anus. Do not brag about what you have, just my advice. |

More of an allrounder yeah, but anything fast will be done on track mostly or open empty highway. And of course I wouldnt let any place I take it to know how much I earn, simply saying on here incase people ask wat my budget range is or what ever.

Open empty highways. Hmm
Ok, you will need an entirely new engine, gearbox, brakes, ecu, fuel system etc. Way easier to just sell what you have and buy an sti or something. Besides most people in aus think sti's are crap compared to their commos and stuff so its a semi sleeper.

A guy in qld had one of these
Fitted a ez flat 6, 6 speed, massive turbo motec etc. 50k investment. Car was a absolute animal. For that money you could buy a 2010 sti.

Big budget?
Buy a better base. Brand new STI, sleeve the block, GT35R/X, exhaust, headers, motec, injectors, e85, dms50/reigers, front and rear sways& struts, A050 tyres. Would be great until someone rolls up in a R35 GTR.

Buy this motor
Insert motor Rego Oh it's an RX. Forget above. Buy Sti With the amount of ancillary work being almost everything . . .
