Default Subaru Recall

Just received a recall notification about the security system, lucky my OEM one has been disconnected...

Engine Hesitation and/or Shut Down caused by vehicle Security System
Model Years 2002 to 2005 Impreza WRX and WRX STI.

If you have the OEM system still intalled and haven't received this letter, I suggest you give subaru a holla.....

Did you purchase your vehicle directly from Subaru & are you the only Owner.?

Otherwise Subaru AU won't have your details in the system & would have the original owners.

He/she Probs got the letter. Best give Subaru a call if not.

Serious? Can you provide any more details - number to call, references or anything?
Keen for recall!

Maybe chuck up a scanned copy of the letter and block out the importants bits (e.g. name, address, etc)

This recall has been active for about 4+ years, most cars have most likely had the modifcations carried out.

As above, they will just be trying to catch up on the remaining vehicles that haven't had the recall carried out

More then four years, there are only 780 cars with the recall unclaimed, out of more then 10000.
Like stated, Subaru will send out letters to the last known owner until their records are updated, and the recall is done.
A good reason to let Subaru Australia know when you've bought a Subaru.
There should be forms in with the log books and owners manual.

So looks like it's a continuation of this recall? Link

If it's the same, then it looks like it's to do with re-earthing to ensure high power 3rd party components don't cause electrical interference problems. Obviously not a fix for the faulty/dry solder joints on the actual PCB which causes other/similar (serious) problems.. sigh
