Default Unusual squeaking noise??

Hi all,

For those that have had worn wheel bearings, has this issue/problem caused a squeaking noise when turning a corner or even just moving the steering wheel whilst the car is under load?

I mainly hear the squeaking at lower speeds, like when turning corners or in car parks etc..

The noise that i am experiencing is coming from the rear left. However after having the car up on a hoist the right rear wheel bearing is a lot noisier and worn, and the left one is not too bad according to my mechanic.

Can the noise travel from right to left or reverberate under the car causing me to think it is from the left?

Could there be another whole different issue causing the squeaking noise?

Thanks for your assistance,

Daren

I had something that sounds exactly like what your describing on my yellow wagon...turned out to be worn swaybar bushes...

However this could not be your problem

Cheers for the ideas guys...never thought of the bushings being the possible culprit. Will have them looked over.

Worst thing is I never noticed it until a mate said he could hear it....now I hear it all the time, getting a bit annoying. I'll take the car in on Monday and see what the culprit is

Well bit of a non update if there is such a thing...

Squeaking is still there even after having my right rear wheel bearing replaced (needing doing anyway) and the left one is fine. Bushings have been inspected and they are fine too.

Front and rear rotors and pads were recently changed and since then the noise had appeared. I thought it was just a coincidence.

Are there any part of the brakes at the rear that could be causing this squeaking/squealing noise?

Cheers,

Daren

Can this cause brake shudder? I heard a squeak noise lately from rear right of my car and I have fairly bad brake shudder

No wont cause brake shudder, that will be from your rotors. Will need to skim rotors to make them smooth again, will probably be from the front however could be rears.

So skim or replace whichever you decide
