Wrists over the steering wheel and your leg should be slightly bent with the clutch fully depressed.

try left hand 12'oclock, window open and right hand towards the pavement.
seat leaning back as far as the left arm can reach, winnie blues in the top pocket of the flannel and cotton-eye joe playing full treble

make sure you have enough room between your head and the headrest so you can bob back and forth with the muzzak.

Seat completely upright, elbows bent at 45deg angle, chest about 6in from the steering wheel.

Cops will think ya a noob and won't bother pulling ya over. Also, you can argue the gauges/AVC-R/S-AFC/etc weren't obstructing your vision at all, given your driving position.

Bonus: you can fit more cargo in the rear, or fit 30" subs in a custom job with the rear seats removed. You can also make-believe you're driving a 2-door. Also more value for money as you get to use more of the seat belt.

Quicker access to stereo in case you want to crank up the volume just before you drive past Leach Hwy maccas, or Northbridge, or Freo strip.

In case of airbag deployment, the airbags won't destroy your $400 Armani glasses either as your head will be above the steering wheel.
