aC- 01-06-2012 10:51 PM

Will have a drive around after work and have a look!

Note - did you mate take his license before he test drove?

Wrx_92 01-06-2012 10:54 PM

CAUCASION MAN 180cm bout 36ish to 39yrs old stole it while looking at it, was driving it and then he seemed legit so i had let him take it for a spin and swaped seats. But did question him when i had suspicious, so while driving he was asking bout engine and mods. Later we went to thornlie square and then swap seats back i proceeded out then notice he took his time. So then took my time too, after he realized he fully got out and i had got out too. Then he hoped in and sped off and i only manage to open the door while he was quickly speeding off.

Stands out the car with Blue LED number plate lights and 1 sticker on each rear doors " Subaru rally team australia. While it has fog light covers mesh style and loud BOV and the headlights are out at times. Cos of cheap HID kits

norwest_rumbler 01-06-2012 11:05 PM

:cwm10: fuck that sucks, hope you get it back ok

fsk 02-06-2012 06:06 AM

what actually happened to allow him to be able to drive off? In my old GD if i got out of the drivers seat and swapped with a passenger anti hijack mode would kick in and stop the engine. I assume this bugeye has the same brant system..?

MadDocker 02-06-2012 08:11 AM

Brant switched off??

Jeckle 02-06-2012 08:18 AM

But this would run the risk of having to restart the engine after the Brant has kicked in, its about 30sec I believe, then you would have to type the code back in, not something I would want to do in front of someone else.

ALLPAWS 02-06-2012 09:08 AM

U don't expect a bloke well into his thirties to drive off with ur car, tho I will keep that in mind when it comes time to sell my Rex . . .

Unless you know the person expect everything.

I.D at the ready when I sell mine.

OllieJ 02-06-2012 09:36 AM

Yup - i now sight a DL prior to test drives. Not worth the insurance/theft worries of trusting someone you never have met.

norwest_rumbler 02-06-2012 10:06 AM

dont just 'sight' the lic, take a photo of it

squid 02-06-2012 11:33 AM
dont just 'sight' the lic, take a photo of it
photocopy license/passport

or hold on to it for the duration of the test drive

they have a problem with that

i would have a problem letting them touch it

Captain Awesome 02-06-2012 11:41 AM

This has me worried when selling mine now! I was planning to be very cautious already but now, its going to appear as I don't want to sell lol :P.. Hope they catch whoever took the car and it gets returned with nothing more than a few kms on it.
Something that freaked me out, Our license plates are almost identical and they are not personalized lol.
