Default Stroker Question

Does increasing the displacement of an engine reduce turbo lag?

Eg. installing a 2.2 JUN stroker into a wrx reduce turbo lag or running the same setup on a EJ20 and EJ25

please state your opinions i am interested

I would think it would compensate as you would be increasing torque with a bigger engine therefore it would work that little bit longer before the turbo kicked in.

I am no mechanic but I am pretty sure thats what it would do.

Good question btw, I would definitely like to hear other peoples opinions

Theres ALOT more things you can do to reduce lag before thinking of stroking the motor.

increasing the capacity will make the turbo come on earlyier..

but theres other ways to go about it, cams for a start are a lotmore cost effective, as is a good tune etc

Very true you get like 1000 points or something.

But in all seriousnessousity you can think about intercooler position, reverse manifold, twin scroll, cams, antilag. Heaps of options there that will effect lag more then stroker kit

Whack a V8 innit mate.

Twin carby mate.

Sick.

But yeah your right....it will bring it on earlier. However, Im yet to drive a "laggy" wrx. I've driven Joes a couple of times with the TD06 and it doesnt feel laggy at all. Very nice setup.

Drive a GTR with aftermarket turbos and then come and talk to me about lag
