Coilovers with 9.5 grids
Lads/Ladettes
I intend on lowering my '06 CS9 on 18 x 9.5 rotas with 225s stretched on. Has anyone had any dramas or heard of anyone having dramas with the guards rubbing. The stance I want will be quite aggresive so I assume there may be some slight rubbing when cornering hard (as we do). Any help is much appreciated!! Thanks fellow wrx-ians!! |

It largely depends on the offset.
Lower offset = more rubbing. |

225 on 9.5 hella stretch but no shouldn't be a problem with your guards and adjustable coilovers
Im on 235 on 18x9" +22 and does not rub when Im in it or hard turns, different story with four people

Can't believe you're putting 225's on 9.5's... I run 255's on mine and they are too stretched for my liking. Going to 275's next time

that is fucking crazy, you won't need to worry about guards rubbing when hard cornering, because you'll be sliding instead with minimal grip like that... i'm running some beefy 265's on my 9.5's...

Do it mate, you will unleash unparalleled levels of cornering ability with that kind of race like setup.

The stance is shit and what you want will get you around a pole.

Hahah... You guys are like A Current Affair... It's a WRX... not a Bugatti Veyron... 225's will be stretched, but he's hardly going to have dangerously low traction...
If you like the style, go for it, although I think the 18 x 9.5 +35 is the right size/offset to go for! You will rub if you're going low, but if you roll the guards and dial a degree or so of -ve camber in, you'll be fine!
