Hatchbacks are great.
Autos are not. That's all you need to know.

I say buy a Forester and prosper...uses all the same parts as a any wrx/sti, poo poo dont look at you and best of all you can fold both back seats down and tow easily with it. The Forester is a very capable skid producer too.
My previous cars have been MY06 WRX STI and MY07 Liberty GT TB STI. Finally whatever you do I suggest you buy the manual version unless you dont know how to drive nor have any intention of trying to.

Not sure on the new models, but weren't the old auto's only a 4 speed? So you instantly loose 1 gear on a WRX. I think the new model STi uses the 5 speed, so still 1 gear down.
Subaru needed to release the S-Edition Forester in a 6 speed manual and not only a 5 speed auto. GT with a 5 speed manual just isn't the same. (Can anyone tell I've become a 6 speed junkie!)

The SH Forester and GVB WRX use the same 5 speed manual gearbox. (buy it)
The SH Forester also comes in a 4EAT which is a pig (do not buy it) The SH is no longer being offered and a new yet unseen version of the Forester is being introduced soon according to SOA. The SH Forester S edition offers the same 5EAT gearbox as the WRX STI Auto uses (again do not buy as it's weight and size are enormous) this is a SH Forester http://vimeo.com/48732860

Yeah not too many people are a fan on the autos, my SS is an auto, good for the straight, and cruising, probably different with a turbo car, although I heard the tiptronics in the R34 skylines go well with a turbo...
Anyways, awesome car Dave!! Actually quite jealous. Looks dope. As for the wrx's no real luck for me, I've tried looking around and what I've seen has been either Thrashed GC8's which people haven't bothered taking care of or high km's peanut 03's... It's a shame when you see such a nice car and the owner has just treated it in a filthy way... ^ LOL says the commodore owner.. Although traction control hasn't been turned off nor have the wheels intentionally spun in my car. Anyways sorry for the stupid questions and what have you, but is there anyone out there with knowledge and experiences with Supras at all? Wondering how their Auto gearbox fairs, very common to see them in auto. But yeah will try keep my eyes out, still keen for a subi! |
