Hey Guys

I'm just wondering how much difference there is in size between a GC8 & GDA stock intercooler? It's for my MY99 but I'm looking at a stock GDA intercooler purely because I have a strut brace which will be in the way of the STi cooler. Anyone got a pic for comparison between the GC8 & GDA?

that being said it's not a massive difference and i'm not sure if it'd be worth doing the swap, you should probably just go look at a gda one yourself and make a decision

STi strut brace should clear the STi GDB tmic
Clears my SF5 forester

Forester is a different thing, the engine is lower in relation to the body/strut towers. GDB STi intercooler is possible on GC8 but you need all the planets to align for it to fit. Even then, it is a tight fit and prone to touch here and there. GDA fits easier and is slightly bigger than a GC8 'cooler, only about 20mm wider from memory.

Well the cooler size difference is very minor but my MY99 cooler has seen better days so I will replace it with the MY04 I picked up. I'm sure with a little bending the brackets should be fine aswell... I will throw some pics up for comparison once I swap them out!

Overall the length,width and height are smaller on the GC8 intercooler compared to the GD thus a small gain in air volume. Will fit when I have all the parts.
